Robert “Bob” Laurence Roy, 72, of Coarsegold, California, passed away on August 22, 2026.

Bob was a loving husband, dad, and the very best Papa. Above all else, he loved his wife, Nina. She was truly his world, and the love they shared was something that will always be remembered.

Bob had a special love for his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren knew him as Papa, and being their Papa was one of the greatest joys of his life. He will forever be remembered for the love he gave and the special memories he created with each of them.

Bob was also an incredibly loyal friend to so many. He valued the friendships he had throughout his life and was someone people could count on. His friendships were important to him, including the close relationships he shared with his brother, Merritt, as well as his sister, Kandie. These bonds were deeply meaningful to Bob, and he cherished the love, laughter, and memories they shared throughout the years.

Bob was a true believer whose faith was an important part of his life. He attended CrossCity Church, where he worshipped, was baptized, and found comfort in his relationship with God. His faith gave him strength and hope and was something that remained close to his heart.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Nina; his children, Robert Ward, Gary and Amber Roy-Schoonover, Mishelle and James Walters, and Ashley and Nathan Thomas; his cherished grandchildren, Daylon, Malyia, Bryce, Brooklyn, Raine, Paisley, and Evie; his mother-in-law, Ellie Lomprey, his brother, Merritt Roy, and wife, Julie; and his sister, Kandie Dahlgreen, and husband, Jeff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Janet Roy, and his brother, Dennis Roy.

Bob leaves behind a family and countless friends who loved him deeply and will miss him beyond words. His love, laughter, loyalty, faith, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He was deeply loved as a husband, dad, Papa, brother, friend, and faithful believer, and his memory will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Service Information

A Celebration of Life honoring Bob will be held on September 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at CrossCity Church in Clovis, California—the church Bob attended and called home.

Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Bob’s life, share memories, and honor the love, friendship, and faith that he shared with so many.

Bob will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
