Robert Maurice Walter Jr., a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away in Fresno, CA on April 29th, 2026 at the age of 71. 

Born in Bossier City, Louisiana to Robert M. and Charlotte V. Walter, Rob grew up with a passion for cars. By the time he turned 21 he had owned 20 plus cars. He graduated from Fresno State and went on to a career in HVAC drafting and design where he was known for his humor, cartooning and practical jokes. 

In 1982, he married the love of his life, Beverly Walter on Valentine’s Day.Together, they built a life centered on family and travel. He spent his happiest hours painting, researching and tinkering with cars, in the solitude of gardening, attending Cars and Coffee with his grandson, and traveling to the beach.

 He is survived by: his wife, Beverly; his son, Eric and wife Kassy; two grandchildren, Emmy and Cohen; Uncle, Darroll and wife Mary; and cousins, nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by: father, Robert “Moe” Walter; mother, Charlotte “Jenny” Walter; brother, Wesley Walter; and sister, Gail Walter. 

A gathering to honor Rob’s life will be held at 9am on June 1, 2026 at Yost & Webb Chapel, where we will have the opportunity to share cherished memories.
