February 25, 1944 – May 18, 2024
Robert "Robin" Charnin
1944 - 2024
Robert "Robin" Charnin passed away peacefully in the early hours of May 18, 2024, at the age of 80. Robin was a man of many passions and talents, whose zest for life touched everyone who knew him.
Robin was predeceased by his beloved mother, Jessica Barbara, his father, Samuel Sidney, his brother, Samuel Sidney Jr., his daughter Kristine, and his grandsons Michael and George. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth, who was his greatest source of happiness. Robin is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Darlene Downs, and her husband, Mike, his sister, Shirley Sons, his children, Joseph and Tahlya, and his grandchildren, as well as his extended family and friends.
Robin's interests were as varied as they were deep. He had a profound love for World War II memorabilia and anything related to Coca-Cola, 50's culture, and Elvis Presley. His collection of remote-controlled cars and planes was a testament to his enthusiasm for these hobbies. Robin's 1957 Chevy was his pride and joy, and he spent countless hours driving, often with 50's music, especially Elvis, playing in the background.
An avid hunter, Robin found peace and excitement in the great outdoors. He was also a talented builder, creating dog houses, a unique bicycle, and even a cabin in his backyard. Robin's creativity and craftsmanship were admired by all who saw his work.
Robin's love for life extended to his culinary preferences. He enjoyed dining out and had a particular fondness for onions, which he liked on everything, though he had a strong aversion to vegetables. Above all, Robin was happiest when he was with his dear Ruth, sharing life's simple pleasures.
Robin's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of passion, creativity, and love will continue to inspire his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
