Roque Mavis Vasquez
August 24, 1938 – June 28, 2022

Roque M. Vasquez, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2022, in Fresno, California surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation and prayer service will be held at Yost and Webb Funeral Home on July 11, 2022, from 1pm to 3pm.

Roque was born in Chandler, AZ to Roque O and Francisca Vasquez on August 24, 1938. His family moved from Arizona to California and settled in Orange Cove, California.

He proudly served his country and served a four-year term with the United States Marine Corps from September 12, 1956, till he was Honorably Discharged on September 11, 1959 earning a Good Conduct Medal.

He met his wife Lori Jaramillo in 1970 and they were married at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church on July 10, 1971. Together they had two children and raised their family in Fresno, California.

He was an auto mechanic for 40 years and could fix anything at work or at home with a little ingenuity and elbow grease. In his retirement years, he loved to garden and was an avid reader of anything historic or military. And always loved watching his favorite John Wayne movies.

Roque is preceded in death by his parents Roque O and Francisca Vasquez, his brother Richard and his sisters Alice and Linda Long.

Roque is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lori. His daughter Diana and his son Robert. His sisters Ernestina, Mary, Ramona, Francis and Rosie and his brothers Charlie and Rumaldo.
