In Loving Memory of Rose Martinez
May 7, 1958 – July 13, 2026
Rose Martinez, 68, of Kerman, California, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Though her passing leaves deep sorrow in the hearts of those who cherished her, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now completely healed and resting in the loving presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted daughter, Valerie Kelly; her son‑in‑law, Richard Kelly; and her treasured grandchildren, Shawn, Devin, and Alexis, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She also leaves behind her steadfast siblings Yolanda, Bertha, Lupe, Frances, Ernest, and Isabel, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband and partner of 29 years, Richard Martinez. Their marriage was marked by deep devotion, unwavering support, and a love that carried them through every season of life. She also joins her cherished parents, Enrique and Jovita Gutierrez, and siblings Martha, Henry, Evelyn, Eva, Jenny, and Maryann.
For many years, Rose worked in the local schools as an aide, pouring her heart into supporting children and helping them grow. Her kindness, patience, and gentle humor made her a valued presence in the classroom and a steady source of encouragement for the students she served.
When she later began her battle with muscular dystrophy, Rose faced each stage of her illness with remarkable strength. Though the disease slowly took away her mobility and independence, it never diminished her spirit. Through every hardship, she demonstrated resilience that touched everyone around her and became a powerful example of perseverance and faith.
While saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, her family finds peace in knowing she is no longer confined by illness or physical limitations. They take comfort in the promise that she is now whole, restored, and free from pain and suffering.
Rose will always be remembered for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. Even during life’s most challenging moments, she had a remarkable ability to make others smile. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her kindness, laughter, and unwavering spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Although her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, perseverance, strength, faith, and laughter will never be forgotten.
