Obituary

Rudolfo "Rudy" Solis Sr.
On the early morning of September 3rd, 2021, in his home, with his wife and family, Rudy's big, warm, loving, spirit ascended into heaven to be with our Heavenly Father. He was 69 years old. Rudy was born at the General Hospital in Fresno California on October 25th, 1951 to Josephine Lopez and Patrocinio Soliz. He was the second to youngest child among many siblings born to Josephine and Pat. The family at the time lived on a ranch on DeWolf Street, in the outskirts of Fresno near Sanger California.

The family eventually moved to downtown Fresno, and later on to Fresno's West Side. Rudy attended Columbia Elementary, Washington Junior High, Fresno High School. He raised his family in Fresno until 1999 and then moved to the Bay Area of California for 21 years where he made many close friends, but more importantly this time there is where he gave his heart back to the Lord. He eventually came back to Fresno where he and his wife had retired the last few years of his life. Rudy is remembered as a strong man who for many years was good at and enjoyed playing sports such as baseball, football, and as some have mentioned having met Rudy in his younger days at Romains Playground, all knew that he enjoyed playing basketball. Many also remember Rudy as a protector. He was thought of as a "tough guy "but, was known to also be the type that would give the shirt off his back for another. He was known to come to the defense of those he cared for many times.

Rudy also loved cracking jokes with others. He made somany people laugh. He was definitely a character. He had this big raspy laugh too that no one will ever forget, and the way his eyes and cheeks crinkled up when he did. Whenever you think of Rudy, and can imagine that laugh, you will always be taken back to some good memories. Rudy was a HUGE 55-year die hard San Francisco 49er fan, you very often saw him sporting his 49er gear or colors. He also was a big San Francisco Giants fan. Rudy was old school, when it came to telling old stories about his music. He knew all kinds of songs and artists who sang them and (he ALWAYS sang). He enjoyed driving or just sitting around listening to and singing all his music. He had old school slang sayings too like; "Chale!", or when you left or hung up the phone "Catch you on the rebound". You could always catch him watching old western movies, and old shows such as Walker Texas Ranger,In the Heat of the Night and Chips.

Rudy was preceded in death by; His mother Josephine Lopez-Moreno, father Patrocinio Soliz, brothers; John F. Robles, Clemente Robles, Sal Robles, Marc Soliz, Henry Soliz, Raymond Soliz. Sisters; Rachel Jessie Colwell, Esther Marez, and Gloria "Chepa" Beltran.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Charlotte Solis, brother Daniel Solis, sisters; Beatriz "Betty" Solis, Mary Lucille Gonzalez, Mary G. Solis, his six children; Jessie Solis-Garcia, Angel Solis, Vincent Solis, JosieSolis, Rudy Solis Jr, Gabriel Solis, along with 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Rudy was caring, loving, and a friendly man. He loved his wife Charlotte; they had a very special connection that kept them together for over 40 years. He loved all his children very much; he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren even more. Deep down in his spirit he couldn't live without them, and were constantly on his heart.
