Sandy was born on November 18, 1951, in St. Anthony, Idaho.  She was the second child of Merlin Henry Seipert and Ila Rose Thomas.  As a young girl, Sandy lived in many of the western states while her parents followed available work.  At fourteen years of age, she moved to Clovis, California, where she met Michael.  She spent her remaining years in Castro Valley, Livermore, Clovis, and Brentwood California.  She eventually settled, in retirement with Michael, to Shaver Lake, California.  She and Michael spent over 50 years together and were married for 47 years.

After a four year battle with cancer, she passed away on December 14, 2016 in Fresno, California.

Sandy was a servant of God and spent much of her life providing charity to children, her community, and to total strangers.  She was the birth mother to two children, the adoptive mother to four children, and the foster mother to over 40 children with special and dire needs.  Her guidance and support reached far beyond the arms of motherhood.  She was renowned for being a counselor, protector, and source of strength and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Sandy is survived by her sons: Shawn, Chris, David, and Matthew; her daughters: Alyssa, Lisa, Deanna, and Randi; her grandson Cole; her granddaughter Michaela; and her husband: Michael Peterson.
