Obituary

Sharon Lynnette Hawkins
July 11, 1955 – March 26, 2025

Sharon Lynnette Hawkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 69 years old.

Born on July 11, 1955, in Fresno, California, to Chuck and Irma Mosley, Sharon attended Orange Center Elementary and graduated from Washington Union High School in Easton, California, in 1974. It was there that she met Vernon Hawkins, whom she married after high school. A devoted stay-at-home mother and dedicated volunteer, Sharon loved her family, friends, and, most of all, her grandchildren.

Even though Sharon and Vernon were no longer married, they remained best friends throughout their lives, sharing a deep bond that went beyond marriage. They could often be found together on family trips and private getaways to the coast and Las Vegas, enjoying breakfast, attending school events and fairs, and supporting each other at doctor's appointments. Their bond was connected through the family they both created and cherished.

Sharon was a loving mother and grandmother whose life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and community. She was the heart of her family, always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down. She poured her heart into everything she did, especially when it came to her children. Sharon was actively involved in her children's lives, from their school activities to their personal goals. Her love for her family was limitless, and her commitment to their happiness and success was evident in everything she did.

She found fulfillment in coaching softball, inspiring young athletes with her encouragement and unwavering belief in their potential. She also devoted her time to American Union 4-H, where she served as a leader and mentor, teaching countless children the skills of raising animals while instilling in them the values of hard work, responsibility, and compassion. Her deep love for animals came from barrel racing and participating in rodeos. She cared deeply for her beloved livestock—horses, pygmy goats, sheep, and hogs. Sharon and her family frequently visited Morro Bay, California, her favorite coastal retreat, where she found peace and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Irma Mosley, as well as her brothers, Carl and Clifford Mosley. Sharon is survived by her loving family, including her three children: Gina Dobson and her husband, Charley Dobson; Jodene Flores and her husband, Michael Flores; and Barry Hawkins and his wife, Melissa Hawkins. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Austin Means, Amanda Means, Ashton Wooldridge, Jack Dobson, Callie Flores, Taylin Flores, Kason Flores, and Cody Hawkins, along with three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave., Fresno, CA, to honor and celebrate Sharon's life.

She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
