Obituary

Shirley Anne (Igl) Jesse

Shirley Anne Igl was born on April 6, 1942 at the Michael and Mary Igl farm in Northern Wisconsin.  There she learned to plant and harvest potatoes and care for dairy cattle.  She grew up in that small community and attended St. John's Catholic School and later Antigo High School graduating in 1960.  A few years after high school she married Terran Jesse.  She had known him much of her life as they had grown up in the same community.  They celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary on August 18 th of this past year.

The love they shared was noticed by all.  They frequently lead engaged encounter groups at their church to help couples getting married learn how to be in love throughout their lives.  They almost always held hands especially while going to communion and while praying before a meal.

Shirley enjoyed her family.   She loved watching her grandchildren, taking them on walks, and to the park.  She realized that dates were just numbers on a calendar and the important thing was spending time with loved ones.  Christmas in February and March were not unheard of.   If all of her family could come it didn't matter the date.  She loved to talk to family and friends on the phone and share in their lives.  She enjoyed praying the Rosary, going to mass, and caring for her houseplants.  In her later years she loved to spend her time doing word searches.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her grandson Ryan Roberto, brother Leonard Igl, and her parents. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Terran, her son T-Jay and his wife Jeannie, daughter Alison Roberto and her husband John, grandchildren Heather Nguyen and her husband Huy, Tiana Flood and her husband Alex, Edward Jesse, Jacob Roberto, Noah Roberto, and Nicholas Roberto.  She is survived by her great grandchildren Landon Nguyen, Kayleigh Nguyen, Aliana Flood, and Bella Nguyen.  In addition, she is survived by her siblings Jeannie Pagel and Gerald Igl and his wife Sissy.  Furthermore, she is survived by her wonderful caregiver, Shawn Josie, who is more family than caregiver.
