Poem for Sylvia
A Mother to us All, A friend and Confidant to whoever may call,
Who taught us how to Laugh, whenever we would fall.
She would wipe away the tears each time that we would cry,
who taught us how to pray as we looked into her eyes.
She always knew when we were telling her the truth or
when we were caught in a lie,
and she knew all this without batting an eye!
Still she would hold us in her arms saying "Oh, sweet child of Mine,
I wasn't born yesterday, and I'm going to live for a very long time".
She was the Mother we needed, to make it
through the night.
Even as children, we knew that her time in heaven would come,
and all her hard work and sacrifice here on earth would be done.
Now she's with our Creator, who has the power to direct the moon and sun,
the one and true legal guardian of each and everyone.
So let's not be saddened by this moment, let every one here cast their light,
for together we hold the power, once we as a family do unite.
And give all our worries and troubles to our Lord,
and Savior Jesus Christ.
