Bedoian
December 2, 1930 – October 2, 2022
Tarjian Bedoian was born December 2, 1930 to Krikor and Mary Bedoian in Sanger California, and passed away on October 2, 2022; Two months before his 92nd birthday. He was gifted with 3 siblings: Bagdasar, and twins Helen and Sara. He served in the Korean War in the early 1950's. After the war he returned to Sanger and began a wholesale distributing business. Later his brother joined him and together they built a successful business for over 50 years. On August 4th, 1956 he married Heranoush (Harriet) Minassian. They created a beautiful life over the next 53 years until Harriet passed away in 2008.
Tarjian was a well respected member of the Armenian community as well as the community at large. He belonged to several service clubs and associations including: Holy Trinity Mens Society, Triple X, Tigers Club, and Amvets Post 98 in Sanger. He was an Eagle Scout and later a Cub and Scout Master for Troop 204 in Sanger. He was honored by the Korean Minister for Patriots and Veterans Affairs with a medal recognizing his Korean War service and named an "Ambassador for Peace". Also, he was Grand Marshal for the Sanger Veterans Day Parade in 2017.
Tarjian is survived by his sisters Sara Hamilton and Helen Fort; sister-in-law Diana Bedoian; son Leonard T Bedoian (m. Diane); daughter Lynette D McDowell (m. Danny); grandchildren Megan McDowell, Heather Puls (m. Tony), Hayley Baker, Chelsea Starr, Cody Paris (m. Samantha); and great grandchildren River, Gavi, Keagan, Kenley, Allen and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Harriet; his brother Bagdasar; brothers-in-law Henry Fort and James Hamilton III; and great grandson Mica McDowell-Mims.
Tarjian was a true Renaissance man. He fixed his own cars/boats/farm equipment, moved his own houses, maintained his own apartments, grew his own garden and told his kids to do the same. He was very opinionated, never minced words and the most generous man anyone would ever meet.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Apostolic Church on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 10:00A.M.
