Terran Edward
Jesse Sr.
February 5, 1939 – May 27, 2025
Terran Edward Jesse, Sr., born on February 5, 1939, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, 24 years to the day after his beloved grandson, Ryan. He is now reunited with his cherished wife, Shirley.
Terran was born at home in Antigo, Wisconsin, a common practice in that era and region. He resided in Antigo until he joined the Navy, serving in Alaska, Norfolk, Virginia and Washington, D.C. During his time in Washington, D.C., Terran, a talented trumpeter and French horn player, had the distinct honor of performing at the White House on numerous occasions, for President Eisenhower and Vice President Nixion.
In the early 1960s, a chance encounter sparked a lifelong romance. Terran, taking his best friend's sister to a friend's house, reconnected with the "little girl he threw snowballs at," and their love story began. Terran possessed a touch of wanderlust, a desire to travel and experience many different states. However, after moving to California in 1973, Shirley decided they had found their home, and California remained their residence thereafter.
A man of deep faith, Terran loved attending church and dedicated himself to praying the Rosary daily. He spent the last six months of his life under the compassionate care of the VA Community Living Center. Prior to that, he was able to remain at home with the incredible support of his caregivers, Shawn, Ann, and Tre.
Terran was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley; his grandson, Ryan Roberto; and his parents, Edward and Agnes Jesse.
He is survived by his son, Terran (T-Jay) Jesse, and his wife, Jeannie; his daughter, Alison Roberto, and her husband, John. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Heather Nguyen and her husband, Anhhuy; Tiana Flood and her husband, Alexander; Edward; Jacob; Noah; and Nicholas. Terran was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Landon, Kayleigh, Aliana, and Bella.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
