Thomas Cy Mouradick
February 13, 1941 – October 5, 2023
Thomas Cy Mouradick, "Tommy" to his family and friends, passed away at the age of eighty-two on October 5, 2023, following a long illness. He spent his last days in his home in Newport Beach, surrounded by friends and family. His was a life well lived.
Tommy was born on February 13, 1941, in Fresno, California, to Cy and Bernice Mouradick. Tommy grew up in Fresno and was a graduate of Fresno High School.
Tommy attended Fresno City College and Arizona State University. After graduation he joined the family business, M&A Distributing, Inc., a grape processing and cold storage facility, located in Coachella, California. Upon his father's death, Tommy became President of the company where he farmed and sold table grapes under the "Tommy Boy" label. He loved farming and the produce business where he enjoyed many lifelong business friendships. Tommy believed a good time and business went hand in hand. When M&A was sold in the mid-90's Tommy retired and made Newport Beach his home.
Tommy enjoyed his retirement years spending time with family and friends, traveling, and getting involved in numerous Armenian charities, including the Armenian Artists Project, and the Armenian Eyecare Project. He was a member of the Orange County Triple X Fraternity as well as being a long-time supporter of Hoag Presbyterian Hospital/Newport and other local charities. Tommy was generous to a fault.
Like his father, Tommy loved horses and horse racing. He owned five thoroughbred horses and in the last 2 years he happily posed in the Winner's Circle in Santa Anita with 3 different horses.
Tommy had many other loves as well. He had a passion for collector cars and owned the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder used in the movie "A Star is Born". He enjoyed gambling, playing blackjack, reading, and food. Tommy loved hosting dinner parties and entertaining in restaurants.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Cy Mouradick and Bernice Mosesian Mouradick, and by his brother, James Mouradick. He is survived by his cousins, Charles Mosesian of Fresno, California, and Michael Mosesian of Anchorage, Alaska.
A graveside service will be held October 27, 2023, at 11:00AM at Ararat Armenian Cemetery, 1929 West Belmont Avenue, Fresno, CA 93728. A memorial luncheon is being planned for a later date.
