Obituary

Vahan Manukian passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born on October 16, 1946 to Anna and Yervant Manukian in Stuttgart, Germany. Vahan grew up in Fresno, CA and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1964. He started working, at a young age, at his father's basturma and soujouk shop. He opened his own deli in 1973 with his wife Alice. Manukian's Delicatessen was under their ownership for 8 years. He later worked in equipment financing for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Alice Manukian. He is survived by his daughter Diane Wood and son-in-law Dean Wood, his daughter Michele Arikian, son-in-law Jack Arikian and his grandaughters Aleen and Talia Arikian, and his brother John Manukian. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, followed by graveside service at Masis Ararat Armenian Cemetery.
