Vasgen Sarkisian was born on February 28, 1941 in Kharkov Ukraine to Andreas and Kohar (Ovesian) Sarkisian.

During WWII his family and many other Armenians were relocated to a "Displaced Persons" camp in Stuttgart Germany.

The Armenian National Committee for Homeless Armenians (ANCHA) helped relocate them to Fresno CA in 1949.

Vasgen graduated from Fresno State, enlisted in the Army Reserve and and went on to teach at Reedley High School for 30 years

He was a beloved son, brother to Seda Sarkisian, teacher and friend to many.

Vasgen passed away June 18, 2023.
