Victoria Gamoning
Prunchak
March 17, 1961 – December 6, 2025
Victoria Gamoning-Prunchak entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the age of 64. She was at peace and comforted by the presence of her beloved family. Vicki's bright and generous spirit remained as she had made time to order Christmas presents and enjoy all things Disney in her final days.
Her lively spirit was present from the beginning. Born a few minutes after her fraternal twin sister Patricia on St. Patrick's Day (March 17, 1961), Vicki always believed good luck was coming her way. That belief, combined with growing up as the eighth of nine sisters, shaped her bold voice and engaging personality. At family gatherings, she was known to spark enthusiastic debates about everything from politics to philosophy to who should win Survivor.
Vicki grew up in Los Angeles, where she attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School (1st-8th grade), Berendo Junior High School (9th grade), and Los Angeles High School (10th-12th grade) alongside her twin. Curious and intelligent from an early age, her dream was to earn a college degree. For many years, this was a dream she had to put aside. Instead, she became the champion she wished she had, celebrating her daughter Brandy's every achievement and encouraging her to be college-bound. Inspired by Brandy's college graduation and the success she had helped nurture, Vicki returned to the classroom herself. She enrolled in community college and ultimately earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governors University while working full-time, a deeply personal achievement that reflected her determination and belief in lifelong growth.
Vicki pursued many passions with this desire to challenge herself. She played competitive tennis, volunteered for political campaigns, fed the homeless, wrote children's stories, and never stopped making new friends.
By her side for many adventures was her husband of over 20 years, Carl. They made homes together in Newbury Park and Apple Valley, California, and later in Las Vegas, Nevada. In every home they shared, Vicki never missed an opportunity to celebrate, hosting get-togethers filled with good music, great company, abundant food, and, of course, dancing.
After Carl's passing, Vicki's devotion to her family led her to Eugene, Oregon to help Brandy and Brandy's husband, John, as they welcomed their infant son, Clark. She shared many walks with her grandson, joyfully watching construction vehicles and school buses along the way. After braving the Pacific Northwest cold, Vicki returned to sunny Las Vegas and her fulfilling work at Children's Heart Center, a pediatric cardiology hospital.
For all her energy and many pursuits, nothing brought Vicki more joy than being with her family. Brandy, John, and Clark will always treasure the games, laughter, and stories from the times she lived with them. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, parents Aurea and Milo, and sisters Joni and Dorothy. She is also survived by sisters Grace, Gail (Joe), Susan, Dixie, Patricia, and Bernice (Steve); nieces and nephews Karen (Wayne), Emily (Chris), Sarah (Matt), Brett (Donny), Gina (Chris), Melissa (Waleed), Elizabeth (Carlos), Hugo (Al), William, Nicholas, and Eric (Shade); and 13 grandnephews and grandnieces.
Services will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 East Champlain Drive, Fresno, California 93720. Viewing begins at 8:00 am. Rosary at 9:30 am. Mass at 10:00 am.
