Patricia "Pat" Bouloutian was born on April 22, 1927 in Racine, WI to Mihran and Vartouhi Shahinian and went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2015. During the depression, her father was instrumental in locating the property and assisting in the construction of St. Hagop Armenian Church in her home town of Racine. He served as a deacon in the church, and along with his family, attended church every Sunday, and with this influence, lead her to a lifelong dedication to serving her church and community. They were visited by Der Hayrs and Hayr Soorps alike, and Pat had an uncanny ability to communicate with them like they were her family. With her parents, her sisters Ann and Mary moved to Fresno in 1943. In 1951, they moved to Los Angeles and her involvement in the church continued. In 1955, family members arranged for Pat to meet a handsome Armenian man who they thought would be a good match for her. On January 28, 1956, Pat married Varoujan "John" Bouloutian in this very church and they made Fresno their home. On Jan 3, 1957 they were blessed with their first daughter Rebecca, and on Aug 28, 1958 blessed again with daughter Diane. Pat worked for several retail stores, then worked for one of her best friends, Sirarpi Kevorkian, making phyllo dough. You could tell from the stories they shared while working together that it was more than a job. When she retired from working, she became a homemaker taking care of her husband John and assisting in raising her grandchildren. During her younger years she was an active member of the Armenian Youth Federation, and in her adult life, she was a member of the Trinity Guild of the church, and the Armenian Relief Society "Sophia" Chapter. She held several positions on the board for both organizations over the years. She was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. Pats devotion to the church has never faltered. With the love of her family and God Almighty, it gave her the strength to give selflessly every year, every day, and every minute of her life to her family, friends and church. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Ann Solakian. She is survived by her sister, Mary Atashkarian and her husband George; daughters, Rebecca Salazar and her husband Ron, and daughter Diane Bouloutian; grandchildren, Chase Salazar, Alexia Sales and her husband Ryan; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear friends that she considered like family. We'd like to thank everyone for their prayers. We find comfort in knowing that she is in the loving arms of our Lord in heaven.
